Everyone knows actress Meredith Baxter for her role on Family Ties as a mom; however, quite recently people began to take notice of her for a very different reason. She was recently spotted on a lesbian cruise with her partner. These pictures that were leaked have forced her to make a decision to step out of the closet.

In her interview with Matt Lauer on the Today Show she stood up and proudly told America that she was in fact a lesbian. This announcement surprised many of the TV shows viewers because Meredith has five children. She has also been married three different times.

On top of being the mom from Family Ties she recently did a part on Cold Case and a voice for Family Guy. Now however, she has taken on a new role as partner to building contractor Nancy Locke. Currently the couple has been together for four years and lived together for two of those four years.

Before Baxter went on national TV and made the announcement to the world she first told her five kids. It has been reported that they were very reassuring and supportive. Her Family Ties co-stars are also giving her there full support.
